Rehabilitation of the 188th Street Bridge over the Grand Central Parkway; Queens, N.Y.; Install Precast Concrete Deck Panels Over the Grand Central Parkway and Perform Miscellaneous Structural Steel Repairs.

Atlantic Beach Bridge Over Reynold's Channel Bascule Span Deck Replacement, Bridge Painting, Mechanical & Electrical Repairs. Temporary work platforms were installed for access. Components of the span lock machinery were replaced. The deck, purlins, and stringers were replaced while keeping the bridge in balance for on demand openings.

Furnish and Install New Railroad Bridge; Demolition of Existing Bridge. Project Required the preassembly of the new bridge prior to a one weekend complete replacement operation; Required the use of SPMT's and a two crane lift.

Replacement of Main Span Roadway and Approaches at the Bayonne Bridge; New York to New Jersey; Remove Existing Steel Super Structure for Both Approaches to the Bayonne Bridge. Work included demolition of structural steel over major local roadways.

Installation of Temporary Acrow Bridge, Demolition of Existing Bridge and Replacement with New Bridge - All Structural Steel Work. Temporary Bridge was Launched into Position.

Erect Prestressed Concrete Box Beams over Barnum Creek, Install Misc. Structural Steel, Island Park, NY

Reconstruction of the existing concrete viaduct carrying the A train over Jamaica Bay. Work includes concrete T-beam repairs by removal of unsound concrete, installation of new reinforcing, forming of arched beam shape, and pumping new concrete as required to enlarge and encapsulate existing beams; overhead concrete spall repairs and removal of exisiting fiberglass forms. All work was performed over water from barges, floats and movable suspended platforms. New concrete was batched on a barge and pumped into place.

Removal of Structural Steel Approaches including removal over Local Roadways; Removal of Main Span by Strand Jacking to Barges Below; Associated Temporary Support and Jacking of Truss Side Spans and removal of Side Spans.

The Bridge was preassembled on barges in New York Harbor and off loaded to SMPT at Battery Park City. The bridge was moved to position and crane set during full roadway closures on weekend nights.

Restoration of Electrical & Mechanical Systems of Metropolitan Ave. Bridge over English Kill, Brooklyn, NY, Excavate, Form, Install Rebar, Place Concrete for new Generator Platform Footings. Furnish & Install Structural Steel & Grating for new Platform & SE Resistor Bank Platform. Remove & Reinstall all Bridge Mechanical & Electrical Machinery Components.

Repairs to Existing Anchorage Chambers

GCCOM replaced 130 foot long damaged girders, performed heat straightening of major structural members, performed structural steel repairs and installed the shield/work platform below the approach spans.

Replacement and repair of structural and operating components for both the Loop Parkway and Meadowbrook Parkway Bascule Bridges.

Erection of fracture critical curved girders for a new HOV “fly over” lane. Erection of structural steel for widening portions of the Gowanus Expressway and one Exit Ramp. Jacking and shoring towers as required for the Structural work; and installation of both temporary and permanent structural bracing and new bearings.

GCCOM brought their cable compacting equipment and expertise to the Columbia University Civil Engineering Testing Lab and compacted and banded the world’s only physical model of a bridge suspension cable under tension.

Furnish and Install Structural Steel and Platform Grating at base of Gowanus Canal Gas Tunnel Shafts. All work was done in conformance with confined space regulations.

Concrete demolition and spall repairs on underside of elevated station platforms.

Structural Steel Repair, Replacement, Temporary Support, and Jacking as required to repair the damage caused to the Bridge by an impact from an oversized vehicle using the expressway below.
